Join SCA as we gather to ConSERVE DC this MLK Day by mobilizing the next generation of community stewards to help restore our public lands.
With the support of American Express, we will be bringing hundreds of volunteers together for a massive river cleanup. Join us to honor the legacy of Dr. King while helping to improve the health of the Anacostia River.
***All volunteers MUST register at http://scaconservedc.eventbrite.com to complete the online waiver.***
WHEN: Monday, January 16th, 9:30 am to 02:30 pm.
WHERE: Anacostia Park, 1500 Anacostia Drive, Washington, DC 20020. (Registration and kick-off will take place in front of the Skating Pavilion.)
A free shuttle will be provided for volunteers from Anacostia Metro Station; look for an SCA representative at the Kiss and Ride metro exit. Please plan to be at the metro meet-up spot by 9:00am!
WHAT: Volunteers will help with a massive river clean-up, removing trash and debris from the shoreline to improve the health of the Anacostia River.
BRING WITH YOU: Wear long pants and sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring extra layers as the event will take place in any weather! Please also bring your own water bottle for staying hydrated.
PROVIDED: SCA will supply breakfast and lunch for volunteers as well as work gloves and all project supplies. Free SCA winter hats will be provided for volunteers!
REGISTRATION: Please register at http://scaconservedc.eventbrite.com to complete the online waiver.
