Appalachian Station Full Clean Volunteers

Appalachian Station Full Clean Volunteer needed once a month for "bark tanks" and every other week for "soil tanks"

Also need a volunteer to do once a week aquatic reptile and amphibian full cleans of habitats.

Interested in gaining experience or learning more about working in an AZA accredited zoo? Do you love wildlife? Would you like to learn more about the Southern Appalachian environment? This volunteer position could be a perfect fit for you!

Volunteer duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Weekly/Monthly full cleans of microhabitats
  • Recording and logging of meals and cleans
  • Water testing on aquatic habitats
  • Cleaning and maintaining of behind-the-scenes areas
  • Daily enrichment for herp collection
  • Assist keeper in feeding of herp collection
  • Ability to follow direction(s) precisely
  • Ability to listen and adhere to any and all instructions
  • Record keeping as needed
  • Cleaning and maintaining of behind-the-scenes areas
  • Assist other animal keepers, staff, interns and volunteers as needed
