Mission Statement
To serve our neighbors in need with love and acceptance, joining them on their journey toward self-sufficiency.
Description
At Dimitri House, we continue to honor our roots. We remember those who got us started in the early 1980s by providing nutritious meals, warm hospitality, and loving acceptance to the poor and homeless of Rochester.
In February 2000, we received independent status as a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Today, we help our clients on their journeys towards self-sufficiency by offering many programs including a men's winter shelter, a food pantry, and a drop-in program where clients can access services to help them address challenges they are facing.
We have two full-time employees, one part-time employee, a volunteer Board of Directors, and over 100 other volunteers. Our annual budget is approximately $160,000. Our support comes from grants, fundraisers, donations, and United Way.
We keep it simple. We don't do it all but what we do, we do well.
