Open Door Family Medical Center Give Thanks Wrap-a-Thon

Saturday, November 19, 2016

You can almost smell the turkey roasting, but please take a little time to give thanks! Open Door will kick off our Holiday Toy Drive to benefit our young patients with a Give Thanks Wrap-a-Thon beginning at 8:30am. We would like 10 volunteers per shift: adults, college students and high school students. Middle school children may help when accompanied by a participating adult. Our gift wrapping room is located in Ossining in the basement of the Historic First Baptist Church.

If you need further information please contact Alicia Ward, Volunteer Coordinator at award@odfmc.org.

The shifts are:
Shift 1: 8:30am - 10:45am

Shift 2: 11:00am - 1:15pm

Shift 3: 1:30pm - 3:45pm

Please register directly on Open Door's website www.opendoormedical.org then click on the Give Thanks Wrap-a-Thon button.

Toy Drive Hosts are needed to help Open Door have a new toy for all of our young patients from infants to age 14. Our goal is 2,500 new, unwrapped toys and gifts with a value between $10 - $20. Please consider hosting a Toy Drive, a 50/50 Raffle at an event you already have planned, or pass a 'Jar for Joy’ to collect funds to help Open Door to purchase gifts. Holiday gift wrap, curling ribbon and size AAA, AA, C, D and 9 volt batteries are also needed!

Toys can be donated at any Open Door Health Center in Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, Port Chester, Mt. Kisco or Brewster or bring to our wrapping event. Monetary donations are also accepted.

Volunteers are needed in November and December to post flyers, for toy box drop offs, for toy drive pick-ups, gift wrapping and helping at one of our five Santa Days.

To host a toy drive, gift wrap or battery collection, fund collection, to register for other gift wrapping days or other volunteer support please contact Alicia Ward, Volunteer Coordinator at award@odfmc.org or call 914-502-1468.
