Grant Research Volunteer

Are you a detail-oriented person? Do you enjoying digging for information on the web? Would you like to help us continue to find new sources of funding?

We’re looking for a Volunteer to research and identify grants that we may be eligible for. Using the web you would work to determine appropriate foundations whose objectives are aligned with our mission and provide this information to our Grant Writing staff.

Although it costs us upwards of $50,000 for each of our dogs that we place with a visually impaired person, we do not charge for our services. With over 160 dogs per year placed free of charge, we rely solely on financial donations from foundations, individuals, civic groups and corporations to allow us to continue our important work. Guiding Eyes receives no government funding.

Ideally we would like to find someone interested in doing this on a weekly and ongoing basis. We estimate it will take about 5-10 hours of your time per week.

This volunteer opportunity will be done at our Yorktown Heights, N.Y. facility. It may be perfect for any of your friends, family or other acquaintances that are unable to volunteer with us in one of our more traditional volunteer programs. Feel free to circulate this email amongst anyone you think may be interested.

For more information contact Vikki Iwanicki, Manager of Volunteer Services at viwanicki@guidingeyes.org or 845 230 6412.
