Hello,
La Habra Meals on Wheels is a non profit organization. We are always in need of friendly volunteers to help deliver our meals to the home bound seniors in our community. Meals are delivered 11:45am to 12:30 Monday thru Friday only. You can volunteer weekly, biweekly or on a "as needed" basis as a substitute.

Mission Statement
La Habra Meals on Wheels, Inc. is a nonprofit, volunteer community service providing home delivered meals since 1974 for anyone unable to prepare or obtain adequate meals, regardless of race, religion, sex, age or ability to pay.
Our mission is to help the disabled, aged and chronically or temporarily ill by providing nourishing meals delivered by a friendly, well-trained volunteer at a nominal cost. Our objective is to provide daily, caring contact and nutritious meals to our clients so they remain self-sufficient and in their home environment as long as possible.
Our meals are prepared as a service to the communities of La Habra and La Habra Heights by qualified personnel by a local vendor. Meals are delivered by volunteers between 11am and 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday, except on the following Holidays: President's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
Each delivery consists of a lunch to be eaten at mid day and a frozen meal for dinner plus a single serving of milk or juice. The menus are varied, portions are controlled and meals are planned to provide two-thirds of recommended nutritional needs. Meals are diabetic and low-sodium diet friendly. Meals are provided regardless of ability to pay and clients unable to afford the cost may qualify for a full or partial meal subsidy.
Description
We have 6 routes in La Habra & La Habra Heights. It takes approximately 40 minutes-90 minutes depending on the number of clients on each route. We encourage you to chat with our clients instead of just dropping off their food in a hurry. Regardless of the time spent per day you will receive 2 hours credit. This is great for students that need volunteer hours. We deliver Monday - Friday between 10:30-11:30 A.M. You may chose to deliver once a week, every other week, or once a month. We provide training and you go on a "ride along" with a volunteer before you deliver solo.
