Volunteers are needed to help with feminine hygiene kit packing in coordination with #HappyPeriodNYC at our main office on Thursday, October 27th from 1pm - 4pm. These kits of feminine products will be used to empower homeless women to take charge of their health via screenings and education, including Pap testing, immunizations, breast cancer awareness, and more. Any and all help would be appreciated!

If interested in participating in the above volunteer opportunity, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Jaden at jriendeau@cfhnyc.org.

** Volunteers are invited to donate feminine hygiene products of their own as part of the drive. Feel free to bring any products to the event or drop them off at our main office, located at 30 E. 33rd St., Monday - Friday before 5pm.

About Care For the Homeless

Location:

30 East 33rd street, 5th Fl, New York, NY 10016, US

Mission Statement

Care For the Homeless fights homelessness by delivering high-quality and client-centered health care, human services and shelter to homeless individuals and families, and by advocating for policies to ameliorate, prevent and end homelessness.

Description

Care For the Homeless (CFH) serves 10,000 homeless men, women, and children annually and provides comprehensive health care at multiple sites co-located at soup kitchens, shelters, drop-in centers and street outreach programs in all 5 boroughs of NYC. Our service delivery model provides care where homeless individuals and families are receiving a variety of other services with the goal of reducing barriers to accessing high-quality health care. CFH also operates three transitional housing sites with on-site health care and is expanding shelter services in the future, ensuring a safe, supportive path to permanent housing.

In addition, CFH is committed to ending homelessness by conducting public education, research, and analysis of model programs and practices that create permanent housing opportunities, and by shaping policies to prevent future homelessness.
