Every day, dedicated volunteers help us transform wasted food into balanced meals for our community
We offer several different volunteer opportunities at our Main Kitchen. Located at 425 2nd Street NW, our Main Kitchen offers the most opportunities and can accommodate larger groups. We have three shifts available at the Main Kitchen: Morning Meal Prep 9 AM-12 PM (Holds 35 People) Monday-Sunday, Afternoon Meal Prep 1 PM-4 PM (Holds 15 people) Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays. Finally, we have our Evening Meal Prep 5PM-8PM (Holds 25 People) Monday-Friday. This location is metro accessible, we are located about a block from Judiciary Square on the red line. We are not able to offer parking at the Main Kitchen.

Description
DC Central Kitchen prepares over 5,000 meals each day with donated food from area food service businesses. DC Central Kitchen also trains unelmployed men and women in the culinary arts.
