You can make a difference in the lives of Houston's homebound seniors!

Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston's Meals on Wheels (MOW) program provides a daily hot, nutritious meal Monday through Friday to over 4,500 homebound seniors in the greater Houston area. The goal of the MOW program is to allow seniors to live independently as long as possible.

Individual and group volunteers can help in a variety of ways: count meals for daily driver delivery; help make weekly client breakfasts; sort, pack and load meals with drivers; and deliver a pre-packaged hot meals during midday hours.

Groups can also adopt an entire Meals on Wheels route, ensuring that volunteers deliver meals 5 days a week, befriending clients and communicating to Interfaith Ministries other needs and issues that may arise.

For more than 30 years IM has provided basic services to Houston's diverse ethnic and religious communities. Over time we have discovered that by working together, we can develop new relationships and friendships with people who are very different from us, yet share common goals and hopes. We like to say that "The Strength of Shared Beliefs" is the thread that binds and motivates us. IM has 116 employees, over 2500 ongoing and episodic volunteers, and serves over 10,000 people. Funding for IM comes from the public and private sectors.
