Reed Elementary in Tacoma, WA is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy working with elementary-aged youth!
Our afterschool program runs Monday-Thursday from 3:30 - 5:15pm.
Our first session of the year will run from Oct. 31st to Dec. 15th.
Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas - the daily schedule is as follows:
3:30 - 3:45 snack-time
3:45 - 4:45 activity
4:45 - 5:15 academic enrichment and mentoring
------------------
Our programming for fall includes:
Art, MESA/Science, Math, Soccer, and Gardening/Nutrition
------------------
That being said, we desire expansion of the program and are looking for volunteers to do simple activities such as read with a student, tutor them, mentoring, etc.
We also have supplies to start a chess and running club but are in need of someone to lead those activities. We really would love to have a dance/music club at some point as well!
In order to volunteer, all we ask is that you come to the main office and complete a volunteer packet. Once approved, we would love to have you working with our students!!!
:)
