Are you looking for a way to give back to your community? ECHO (the El Camino Homeless Organization) provides shelter for some of the homeless men, women, and children in SLO County 365 nights a year. Please consider helping ECHO out as we continue to provide services to those in our county who need it the most!
At least two volunteers must stay overnight with the guests as chaperones to help supervise the evening. They arrive at 5:00 pm and hang out with the guests as dinner wraps up. An overnight orienter gives the volunteers a tour, reviews the rules and helps them settle in for the night. And to make sure that everything runs smoothly. The volunteers sleep in four hour shifts during the night.
This volunteer position is unique among organizations because it provides the chance to get to know our guests in a personal way. It also provides the option of serving with someone you know in a quiet and family-like setting. Give it a try!

Description
The El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) provides meals, shelter, and supportive services to the homeless and hungry of northern San Luis Obispo County. Operating 365 days a year, ECHO is volunteer based organization that is supported by a coalition of churches, service organizations, and individuals. Our family atmosphere and selfless dedication of volunteers has been a refuge for many in their times of need.
