Do you love fireworks, music and festive celebrations? Get involved by helping First Night Alexandria throw the best family-friendly New Year's Eve party in the DC area! Old Town Alexandria shops & historic buildings host 26 music, dance and children's performances on New Year's Eve with a spectacular fireworks finale at midnight.
Sign up at FirstNightAlexandria.org to help at performance venues, sell entrance badges, answer questions & enjoy the performances - or assist with afternoon activities, help with setup & preparations, wrangle an ipad at a badge sales station, or work the information desk to ensure everyone has the best-ever New Years Eve! Great for individuals, pair with friend or family member, some availability for small groups.
PERKS: Free admission to enjoy the rest of the event, box dinner & First Night Alexandria souvenir apron!

First Night Alexandria is dedicated to bringing Alexandria the largest family- friendly and alcohol-free New Year's Eve event in the region. New Year’s Eve is celebrated with performing arts in in Old Town Alexandria. Where museums, churches, rec centers and historic buildings turn into performance venues showcasing area talent. Since 1994, First Night Alexandria has collaborated with area businesses, volunteers, sponsors and supporters to adapt to changing needs, begin new traditions and deliver a community-wide New Year's Eve celebration to remember!
Description
First Night Alexandria is a celebration of the New Year through the performing arts. More than 25 performances take place on 10 indoor stages within Old Town Alexandria. We have performances focused on children and seniors during the daytime and family-friendly concerts all evening! Entertainment includes roots rock, comedy, jazz, R&B, contemporary dance, magic and a Silent Disco. It's fun, affordable and safe and venues are alcohol-free.
Volunteers sign up for one or more shifts to serve at various venues. Duties include assisting at performance venues or activity sites to support attendees and performers. It’s a great way to enjoy live performances and see the fireworks!
Attendees purchase tickets online for the specific shows they want to attend. Venues are walkable and the King Street trolley is free. Additionally, we will have the Dash bus rolling from the Masonic Temple to Market Square starting at 6:30pm.
The Countdown to 2022 Street Party is from 10 pm until midnight when the fireworks grand finale rings in the New Year over the Potomac River.
