Every month, the Capital Area Food Bank supplies several thousand pounds of donated food to DC Bilingual that we administer through our Family Food Market. The Market has no cost associated with it, and is open to families with a student enrolled at DCB. The Market is held in the DCB Bistro, and is open from 11:30 to 1:30 pm. We need help unloading the food from the truck, setting it up on tables inside, and assisting families when shopping. If there is extra time, we always need help in our garden with watering, weeding, and other tasks, and we'll also need folks to help out with general organization/administrative tasks.
Many of our families are Spanish-speaking -- if you speak Spanish, that's a big plus!
