About JDRF Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter - MD Office
Location:
825 Hammonds Ferry Road, Suite H, Linthicum, MD 21090, US
Mission Statement
JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of juvenile (type 1) diabetes research worldwide, and was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with juvenile diabetes - a disease which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. In a typical year, more than 85 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education. JDRF’s mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
Description
JDRF is in the practice of raising money for type one diabetes research. We do this through the implementation of several fund-raising efforts. Our largest revenue comes from events that we through throughout the year. We host a statewide Walk to Cure Diabetes in the spring, a Gold Tournament and Ride program in the summer, and a Gala in the fall. Eighty-six percent of the money we raise goes directly to research.
