Mission Statement
Rainbow House Children's Resource Center is a non-profit organization located in Houston County, Georgis. Our mission is to serve all children by strengthening our community's response to child abuse and neglect through prevention, intervention and advocacy.
Description
Rainbow House Children's Resource Center is the child advocacy center and the child abuse prevention council for Houston County.
Our Child Advocacy Center provides a child, friendly atmosphere where children who have alleged child abuse, particularly sexual abuse, are brought by referral to be interviewed. We work together with our team members to see that these children are protected through the judicial process.
Prevent Child Abuse Houston County is the vehicle in which our community based prevention education programs are conducted. The program which utilizes ongoing volunteers and interns is our First Steps Program. First Steps is a primary prevention program of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia. First Steps trains and helps volunteers to support, inform and assist families of newborns to be their best. First Steps families are primarily enrolled at Houston Healthcare. Our Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Council meets bimonthly to address child prevention issues in Houston County.
