In advance of the NC Museum of Art's Park Celebration on November 6, the Museum will install Australian artist Amanda Parer’s Intrude on Wednesday, October 26. The outdoor installation features five enormous (23 feet high), illuminated, inflated rabbits. Thursday, October 27, will be the media preview and "sneak peek" day/evening. The exhibition officially opens to the public on Friday, October 28, and will be on display until the evening of November 6.
To prevent people from climbing on the works or potentially vandalizing the rabbits, three volunteers are needed to monitor them throughout the day from 9 am to 8 pm. Security staff or hired police officers will monitor the rabbits from 8 pm to 9 am. Volunteers will also be given information about the works to answer visitors’ questions.
Shifts are 9 am-noon, noon-2 pm, 2-4 pm, 4-6 pm, and 6-8 pm. Chairs will be provided.
