We are currently recruiting volunteers who will assist at mobile food pantry distributions by distributing Harvesters provided recipes and nutrition information. The mobile food distribution program takes available food to where it is needed most. Mobile food pantries distribute fresh produce and other nutritious foods to families in need at sites where access to food assistance is limited.

Mobile Food Pantry Nutrition Volunteer will:

• Provide Harvesters’ Nutrition Services Department recipes and nutrition information to interested people at the Mobile Food Pantry
• Report back to Nutrition Services after each mobile distribution the total number of people you distributed recipes to and if you need any replacements

• Willingness to strike up a conversation with strangers
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
• Compassionate
• Able to keep client information confidential
• Dependable - must commit to once a month volunteering on Saturdays for a period of six months at the same pantry
• Independent
• Ability to stand for the entire duration of the volunteer activity
• Willingness to be outside in any weather elements
• No lifting required

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must provide your own transportation to and from mobile food pantry
