Event: Michel Martin: Going There - Getting Real About Race

Location: ideastream - Idea Center, 1375 Euclid Ave., Cleveland OH 44115
Volunteer Shift Time: 4:30pm - 9:00pm
Volunteer Assignments Available:
- (1) Greeter - Provides directional guidance throughout the Idea Center
- (1) Usher - Provide programs, and assist guests getting into the Westfield Insurance Theater
- (1) Floater - available to assist guests with directions within the building, i.e. restrooms, studios, etc; will also be on hand to assist Alina and staff with items that arise
Attire: BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL - We are trying to make our ideaVolunteers easy to identify. As a result during this special event, business professional clothing is required for all ideaVolunteers: For men, a black suit (with a business tie), paired with a solid-colored black dress shirt. For women, a black suit, black pants/dress/skirt suit with a black blouse and black jacket/sweater. For all ideaVolunteers, black colored and conservative footwear. Also, if you do not own a black suit jacket, your attire may go without one, however, for women, if you’re wearing a sleeveless dress or blouse, we ask that you at least wear a black sweater
Complimentary Food and Parking Provided: Location for complimentary parking is Playhouse Square Parking Garage - a voucher will be provided to you once you arrive for your shift inside of the Idea Center

Today, ideastream is the consolidation of eight different programs and services that had previously been independently managed: WVIZ/PBS, with 4 channels of public TV service, and training for teachers and caregivers in the use of technology for education; 90.3 WCPN, Northeast Ohio’s NPR news and public affairs station; WCLV 104.9 Classical, Civic Commons, a community engagement platform; management on behalf of Ohio’s public broadcasting stations of the Ohio Public Radio and Television Statehouse News Bureau and The Ohio Channel, a statewide public affairs television channel available by broadcast and on the web; management on behalf of a consortium of local K-12 school systems of NOTA (North Ohio Technology Association, a broadband interactive distance learning network for K-12 schools) and SMART (Science and Math Achievement Required for Tomorrow), a professional development program for teachers.
