NOTE: THIS EVENT TAKEA PLACE ONLY ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2023. WE ADDED NOVEMBER 10 AS THE END DATE BECAUSE IT WAS REQUIRED BY VOLUNTEERMATCH.

We need volunteers to help set up our event area, then meet with and organize a small group of visiting students, give them handouts and escort them to the NHRA's presentation pavilion and stay with them until the presentation is over. Then you would take them back to the Steve Johnson Racing Hospitality area to wait for Andrew Armes. He will meet with you and take you and the student around on a tour of racing pit areas, andlater, help get the students seated for lunch back at the Steve Johnson Racing Hospitality Area, to hear speakers. Racers will be leading the group on the Pit Tour - you will not need to have prior kowledge of the grounds or activities. The students will go back to the Steve Johnson Racin Hospitality area, where they will eat a pizza lunch while racers speak to them. You would also pass out Comment Cards for the teens and the adults accompanying them to fill out with the pens the teens will have in their tote bags. When the Comment Cards have been picked back up, RWC's portion of the Field Trip Program is over. You would assist with placing the Comment Cards on a table so the photographers can take photos of them. Lastly you would assist with tidying up the Hospitality area, then your work for the day is over, you may go out and look around more or go home.

We would provide you with tickets to get in, parking passes if you need them, and pizza for lunch, as well as an RWC t-shirt.

You would need to provide your own transportation to and from the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds.

Mission Statement

RWC's racing professionals are dedicated to making a difference for our next generation by meeting with as many children and teens as possible, using racers' own insights drawn from their experiences in the School of Hard Knocks on the Road to Winners' Circle to encourage them to explore their own possibilities and to instruct them in the practicalities of how to actually achieve personal dreams and goals, as well as advising them to avoid life's "potholes" in the form of drug and alcohol abuse and other self-destructive behaviors.

Description

RWC HAS TWO MAIN ACTIVITIES:

1. WE ARRANGE FOR PRO RACERS TO MEET WITH CHILDREN AND TEENS, NEAR WHERE THEY LIVE OR ARE BASED, THROUGHOUT THE U.S. TO SHARE "QUICK TIPS ON WINNING IN LIFE."
