Mali Health is searching for a volunteer bookkeeper to assist our staff in maintaining accurate financial records and complying with generally accepted accounting principles. We are an easy-going but high-performing team, based in both the US and in Mali.
You will provide valuable assistance by helping ensure that our financial system functions correctly and freeing staff time to focus on other important tasks.
Tasks you can assist with include:
Collection of bank statements and financial documents from US and Mali
Review of transactions from Mali staff
Entering of transactions into Quickbooks online
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
Monitoring & maintenance of accounts receivable, accounts payable
Generation of financial reports for Mali Health’s grantors
Skills needed include:
Knowledge of nonprofit accounting, or a willingness to learn, required
Some accounting or bookkeeping experience or coursework
Familiarity with Quickbooks online is a plus
Basic French language skills a plus
Strong communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and remotely

Mali Health is a US-based 501(c)3 nongovernmental organization, founded in 2006, that works to saves the lives of mothers and children in resource-poor communities on the outskirts of Bamako, Mali. We help mothers and children access high-quality primary care while working with communities and the health system to improve the way that care is delivered at the community level.
