Schlitz Audubon is proud to partner with Milwaukee Public Museum and the Alzheimer’s Association as the newest Spark! host site. This special program is designed for people going through cognitive changes, such as memory loss, to participate in alongside their caregivers. Each session is devoted to learning about the simple beauty found in nature and how it enriches our lives. Programs are led by Director of Education Tom Finley, and take place indoors, but may include a brief outdoor component close to the building. Each month will features a topic that focuses on the season.
Volunteering takes place on one Tuesday per month for 1 hour in the afternoon; along with one Monday per month for a brief meeting for training/planning.
The first SPARK! program will be October 11, 2016.

Description
Schlitz Audubon Nature Center offers a wide range of educational programs for toddlers through senior citizens. Schlitz Audu bon’s sustainable Gold LEED certified Educational Center is situated on 185 acres along the shores of Lake Michigan, just 10 miles north of downtown Milwaukee. We have 6 miles of trails for hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and a 60-foot observation tower overlooking Lake Michigan. The nature preserve encompasses nearly all landforms and ecological communities that occur in southeastern Wisconsin, including the lakeshore, woodlands, marshes, prairies, bluffs, ponds and ravines.
Schlitz Audubon is an independent, locally supported partner of National Audubon Society. We work together in the areas of environmental education and avian conservation.
