Cancer Resource Center
The American Cancer Society is seeking individuals to volunteer 3-4 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in our Cancer Resource Center at the St Charles Redmond location.

A Cancer Resource Center is a space in a cancer treatment facility where American Cancer Society volunteers provide cancer information, materials, and information on programs and community resources.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, and available to fill at least one shift per week during the hours of 9-4, and be willing to make a one-year commitment and get a yearly flu shot. Additionally, volunteers who are cancer survivors must be out of cancer treatment for one year Volunteers will be trained on American Cancer Society programs and materials in order to help patients and caregivers with questions and offer support, as well as programs from other organizations in Central Oregon.

There isn't much data entry, but we do collect basic information so we can help patients, and you must be willing to do this. We do not use that information for fundraising purposes.

Description
Of all the programs provided by the American Cancer Society, patient services touch the lives and hearts of cancer patients and their families the most. The American Cancer Society is a place people call for resources, information and guidance on cancer, as well as practical help from local volunteers.
