Do you love to read and want to share your passion for books with young adults who have difficulty understanding what they read? The Achievement Academy of Durham's Starting Points program needs volunteers who can commit at least 1.5 hours a week to read one-on-one with a student and help build vocabulary and comprehension skills using a simple set of strategies. Our students dropped out of high school and want to get their high school equivalency diploma (GED), but they need your help becoming stronger readers in order to succeed. Training and support provided.

Tutoring hours: Monday-Friday 9:30-12:30, Tuesday-Thursday 3:00-4:00. Please contact us for specific times we need to fill within these hours.
