Everyone needs someone to show they care. Be a friend to a hospice patient. Spend time visiting, talking, listening, laughing, playing games with and reading to a hospice patient. By taking a few moments a week you can make a lasting impact on the heart and life of a patient. Contact us today!

WHAT VOLUNTEERS CAN DO

--Visit patients in a facility or in their homes.
--Read to a patient who otherwise might not have access to favorite books, magazines or newspapers.
--Play an instrument or listen to music.
--Share stories and memories.
--Simply be present with a patient, offering comfort just by being there.

Kindred volunteers are trained in the goals and philosophy of hospice care, as well as the care and comfort of the hospice patient.

Orientation sessions are held monthly at the Kindred office, 1230 Northwood Center Ct. Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814. or at a location convenient for an individual or group interested in volunteering.

Through caring, compassion, and time given to hospice patients, our volunteers continue to make an invaluable contribution to community, gain personal emotional and spiritual growth, enhance their resume and greater appreciation for life.

Training provided. Background check & TB screening required (at Kindred's expense).

Description

Kindred Hospice is a team of professionals who provide care to patients and families with end of life needs. As key members of the care team, volunteers expand and enhance hospice services for our patients. Volunteers bring special skills and talents to share with patients, and offer comfort through companionship visits, administrative assistance and special projects for patients and their families.
