Our Youth Development Services Department focuses on providing a safe place for students to go after the school day has ended. With plenty of negative distractions in the world, their attendance and enjoyment is essential. An After School Assistant might perform tasks like reading out loud with students, tutoring or assisting students on their homework, and monitoring snacks and meals for our clients.
After School Assistants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED. We ask for a time commitment of at least two hours. Participation is contingent upon clearance of a background check.
Youth Development Services After School Program Hours:
Monday - Friday: 3:30pm - 7:00pm

Since 1951, Good Samaritan Community Services (GSCS) has provided much needed assistance to people living in the neighborhoods of San Antonio's near west side.
GSCS offers extensive social service programs that address the overall needs of children, youth, and families living in this community. GSCS's commitment to improving the quality of life in this area of town is embodied in its mission, changing lives through excellent community services.
