Position Title: Special Events Volunteer
Area/Program Focus: Administration team, Development
Supports: Transforming Lives Program Manager
Position Summary: The Special Events Volunteer assists Catholic Charities’ Development Department with event planning, maintaining donor records, database management, data entry, administrative support, and donor relations.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Event planning
* Donor database: organize and file records of gifts; prepare letters and receipts
* Administrative tasks: prepare correspondence and database management
Success Metrics:
* Thank you acknowledgments are sent to donors within 48 hours of gift receipt
* Data entered into various database programs is accurate
* Accuracy of filing and organization
Core Skills:
* Attention to detail
* Excellent communication, virtual and in-person
* Cultural competency
Requirements:
* Must complete a Live Scan background check that is paid for by Catholic Charities
* Must complete an online training in recognizing and reporting abuse
* Must volunteer at least 8 hours per month for at least 3 months
Agency Culture: Every year, Catholic Charities of the East Bay moves thousands of youth, individuals, and families from Crisis to Stability to Prosperity through 3 primary program areas: "Fostering Self-Sufficiency" provides services designed to strengthen families and increase income to livable wages; "Welcoming the Stranger" offers legal immigration, refugee relocation, and refugee employment services; "Healing Trauma" delivers immediate and sustained support to victims of crime, especially those impacted by community, domestic, and family violence, as well as mental health treatment to students and adolescents experiencing multiple, ongoing incidences of trauma.
