Grace Hospice is seeking compassionate individuals who are willing to provide emotional support and companionship to our patients and their families experiencing Hospice. Volunteers are a vital part of the interdisciplinary team and truly are the heart of our organization. Volunteers can also assist with bereavement support, caregiver relief (respite), running of errands, special event planning, veteran to veteran outreach, pet, reiki, music and massage therapies, office support - and more!
Grace Hospice is currently seeking Pet Therapy Volunteers to visit patients in their own homes or facilities. Pet therapy is a highly therapeutic tool that can help our patients enjoy the remaining days of their lives and relieve stress. A dog can sooth the soul in ways man has yet to master. We have many patients that love the presence of animals, but can no longer care for one. That is where you come in!!
Pet Therapy offers a wonderful experience not only for the patient, but also the therapy dog, and volunteer (therapy dog handler). Are you currently certified with Therapy Dogs International (TDI)? Great! Are you looking to become certified? No problem! We can help steer you in the right direction.
You can explore TDI directly by visiting:
http://tdi-dog.org/ for more information on the certification process.
