Description:
The Irish International Immigrant Center seeks a highly motivated and organized person who can assist in our English for Speakers of Other Languages courses. The Teaching Assistant will be responsible for assisting our teachers in supporting the students in the class, who will be immigrants and non-native English speakers.
Qualifications:
A commitment to the overall mission and values of IIIC
Ability to be patient with students who have accents and/or do not speak English fluently
Ability to work well with the instructor to provide any support he/she needs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and work independently
An ability and enthusiasm to pass on knowledge of computers to others
Reports to: Director of Education Services
Status: Volunteer
More details:
Monday or Wednesday evening from 5:45PM to 8:45PM (Can do one or both classes)
Dates:
Fall: September 12-January 26 (Break from 12/19-12/31)
Spring : February 6-June 12 (Break from 4/17-4/21)
Some teaching experience preferred but not necessary
