This opportunity will take place every Tuesday 9/13 - 10/25 from 8:30 - 10:30 am at the Anita Martinez Recreation Center (next to Lorenzo de Zavala Elementary)

Brighter Bites provides children and their families access to produce, nutrition education, and a community of healthy food. Every week, families take home 30 pounds of free, fresh fruits and vegetables, delicious recipes, and tips for storage and preparation.

Brighter Bites Volunteers may do any/all of the following:

o Move boxes and bags of produce to the bagging area

o Place a variety of fruits and vegetables into Brighter Bites bags

o Keep the bagging area clean and tidy by disposing of trash

o Hand out recipes, distribute the bags, and help families to their cars

o Have fun helping kids realize how much they can enjoy fruits and vegetables!

Tips for a great Brighter Bites volunteer experience:

o Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes that you won’t mind getting a bit dirty

o Park in the main parking lot and check in at the office with your driver's license

o Please fill out a simple volunteer application at DISD's website: https://www2.dallasisd.org/partners/volreg_form.cfm
