Helping with community outreach and tabling at the Monarch Festival. The Festival is a celebration of the Monarch migration held Sandy Creek Park, a certified Monarch Waystation. The outreach volunteer will answer public questions about the Triangle Land Conservancy, our nature preserves, and conservation accomplishments. We will also have a children's craft.

New volunteers will be paired with experienced volunteers or staff. All volunteers must RSVP and go over a brief (10 min.) introduction with staff before hand. We still need volunteers for 2 shifts. Volunteers must commit to a 2 and half hour shift.

Mission Statement

Triangle Land Conservancy strives to create a healthier and more vibrant Triangle region by safeguarding clean water, protecting natural habitats, supporting local farms and food, and connecting people with nature through land protection and stewardship, catalyzing community action, and collaboration.

Description

Triangle Land Conservancy (TLC) is a membership-supported, nonprofit that sees the Triangle region as an increasingly healthy and vibrant place to live where wild and working lands are protected and everyone has access to open space, clean water, and local food. TLC’s protected sites in Wake, Durham, Orange, Chatham, Johnston, and Lee counties encompass more than 17,000 acres, including five nature preserves open year-round to visitors and a canoe access area, all free of charge. We protect land in a variety of ways, including purchasing land, holding conservation easements on important tracts of land, and working with partners to make a larger impact through joint conservation efforts.
