Do you love visiting the library? Become part of a dynamic team of staff and volunteers at one of our many locations as a Branch Library Volunteer! Flexible hours available.
Position Responsibilities:
- Organize library materials
- Shelve books, reading shelves, etc.
- Provide assistance to Library staff
Qualifications, Special Skills Required, and Restrictions:
- Ability to sort materials in alphabetical and/or Dewey Decimal
- Will receiving training on Dewey Decimal System of shelving books
- Ability to bend to floor level or reach a height of 75 inches
- Ability to push movable carts loaded to a maximum of 250 pounds
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read a minimum print size equal to 10 point type
- Must be 16 years or older
- Criminal background checks are required of all volunteers over the age of 18
