Share your love of reading with a student! R.E.A.D. is the Santa Cruz Public Libraries’ reading comprehension program for students grades 2-12. Students receive 30 minutes of individual instruction from a California certified teacher. We're looking for a qualified volunteer (California teaching credential required) to meet one-on-one with students at the Downtown Library on Tuesdays from 3:00-5:15pm beginning this Fall and continuing through the school year.

Description
Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
