Aseracare Hospice is seeking volunteers who are willing to provide their Musical talent in an effort to give back and support our patients and families. For those interested in this volunteer program, students would be travelling to local nursing facilities and assisted living facilities, generally through regular scheduled visits, to enhance the lives of our patients on hospice and/or members of their family through the power of music. Often, regularly scheduled visits are requested, however music enrichment volunteers may also be asked to provide musical visits on an occasional basis for one patient/family or for a group of patients at a facility. Generally music enrichment volunteers will prepare a selection of familiar music from the era of the patient’s youth, determined upon the first visit and then preforming music upon the second visit.

Music is an important part of our hospice program. It can bring back fond memories and provide a release of stress. The volunteers we are looking for can sing, play musical instruments or are interested in providing joy to patients through music.

As a volunteer of AseraCare, you will provide companionship and support to patients and families in our hospice program. Dedicated to being a friend in an end of life journey, volunteers will provide the following to patients and families:
-Be a listening ear to stories.
-Read to patients.
-Offer support to families after a passing.

Volutneers are non-medical and do not feed or administer medication to patients.
