Are you looking to provide joy and companionship with pets?! As a Pet Therapy Volunteer of Aseracare, you will assist in providing delight and enjoyment through the power of therapy that an animal companion can offer.
Volunteers function as companion volunteers with the specialty to focus on encouraging and enhancing patient interactions with their certified pet. Pet Therapy can be blessing in disguise as pets can offer an incredible amount of stress relief, provide happiness onto patients, and create non-forgetable experiences.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Be a listening eat to stories
- Read to patients
- Offer support to families after a passing
All Pet Therapy Volunteers Must have the following:
- Be at least one year old
- Be certified through a proper organization (We can refer you)
- Have all current vaccinations and pass a health screening by a veterinarian
- Be cleaned and groomed before each visit
Volunteers are non-medial and do not feed or administer medication to patients.

AseraCare is a hospice agency that provides care to patient in the end stages of life. We serve patients in their own homes, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities.
We focus on serving the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of our team, patients and families with a sense of compassion, urgency and customer service. AseraCare is passionate about creating a culture that is dedicated to the alleviation of human suffering which finds expression through the ongoing gentle acts of kindness, sympath and compassion. Volunteers at AseraCare will be a friend in someone's end of life journey to ensure they are comfortable.
AseraCare Hospice volunteers enhance quality of life and reduce the burden of caregiving by providing dirrerent types of support to patients and families. Companions, pet therapy, music volunteers, Reiki Practitioners, Massage therapists, and more visit our patients on a regular basis. If you wish to share your heart and help a terminally ill patient in any way you can contact our Volunteer Coordinator to learn about our exciting new opportunities!
