Most of our clients are at or below poverty level and therefore, frequently go without food. Their struggles with mental illness complicates their ability to access resources in the community to aid them. South Community, opened Caring Hands Food Pantry to meet those needs of our clients. The pantry is staffed soley through volunteers. So if you have an interest in helping to insure our clients have food on their tables, this is the opportunity for you.
By volunteering at the Pantry, you would truly make a difference. If you can stock non-perishable food, fill out order requests and have a kind and pleasant personality, this is the opportunity for you. Having skills to do limited data entry is a plus. Our volunteers also help shop, seek out donations, and during growing season help with our client garden.
