The Seva Foundation will be tabling and fundraising at the upcoming Berkeley Shakedown Street Festival! This live music event will take place in Berkeley's MLK Jr. Civic Park on the afternoons of September 17 and 18, 2016. We will be participating in community outreach, as well as fundraising through beer sales. We will need around 30 to 40 volunteers to cover shifts over the course of the weekend. The Seva Foundation partners worldwide to create self-sustaining programs that preserve and restore sight in ordert to create a world free of avoidable blindness.

Description
Seva is the Sanskrit word for "service." Seva Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1978 by a group of people who helped eradicate smallpox and, inspired by that achievement, joined together to alleviate other suffering caused by disease and poverty. In over 20 countries around the world, including the United States, Seva and its partners work to prevent blindness and restore sight to over 4 million people. Our work is supported by donors, foundations and volunteers committed to compassionate service.
