Empowering youth to stay in school!

Help Communities In Schools of Central Texas (CIS) empower students to stay in school and achieve in life! CIS is looking for volunteers to tutor elementary, middle, and high school students in Austin and the surrounding area during the 2106-2017 school year.

Tutors assist students with homework and class assignments with the goal of helping the student build confidence in their abilities, get excited about learning, and create educational goals for their future. For a full academic school year, you would meet with a student for one hour a week on their school campus. A CIS staff member would work with you to schedule a regular time and day of the week for you to volunteer and, whether you are comfortable assisting in a variety of subjects or just one academic area, would do their best to create a successful student-tutor match.

Bilingual (Spanish & English) speaking volunteers are extremely helpful, but this is not a requirement.
