Summary
The Volunteer Community Outreach Assistant will perform a variety of tasks depending on scheduled outreach events for Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado, Inc. This will include attending and representing Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado at outreach events, answering any questions about our organization: programs offered to schools, volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, and giving opportunities. This position will require extensive training at our office prior to attending an event. The volunteer community outreach assistant will need to provide follow-up and debrief of event to the appropriate staff person. This position helps to extend the resources in our organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend outreach events
- Recruit volunteers
- Work with staff before and after each event
- Other duties specifically around coordination of special events, or as assigned
Requirements
- Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner
- Must have public speaking and presentation abilities
- Must be dependable
- Be courteous and personable when dealing with the public
- Detail-oriented
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado, Inc. volunteers, partners, and donors
- Basic Computer skills
Training
- Attends general volunteer orientation and extended training to learn about our programs
- Completes office orientation which includes training on the following items:
- Phone System Tutorial
- Training provided
Time Commitment
- 4 hours per week
