Are you interested in advocating on behalf of nursing home and rest home residents to help protect residents' rights? Qualified applicants participate in a three-day program, receiving conditional certification as a Long Term Care Ombudsman. By providing 2-3 hours weekly, the Ombudsman Volunteer visits an assigned nursing home or rest home to receive, investigate, and resolve complaints.
The North Shore Long Term Care Ombudsman Program covers nursing homes and rest homes in Danvers, Marblehead, Peabody, Salem, and the Mystic Valley communities of Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, and Wakefield.
