The Community Computer Program is seeking a volunteer to accomplish outreach for donations and financial support. CCCP, a service project of RSVP takes donated computer and refurbishes them under a Microsoft license and gives them back to financially challenged families in Nassau and Suffolk county. They receive their donations from private citizens, libraries, school district and businesses.

We are looking for a retired, self-motivated and energetic individual who will seek donations of computers and/or funding from various community/corporate organizations.

Nearly all the work can be done from your home with a time commitment of 4-10 hours weekly. Responding to emails and phone calls are tasks of this position, as are MS computer skills, such as Word and Excel.

Mission Statement

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program's mission is to provide volunteer opportunities that adddress our areas educational,environmental, public safety and human needs. In doing so RSVP fosters civic responsibility while strengthening the ties that bind us together as people. RSVP volunteers are matched by skills and interests to over 100 not-for-profits in Suffolk County. The senior remains active and essential in their community by giving of their time and the volunteer stations reap the benefits of having experienced, committed adults who have "free" time to dedicate to their cause. Our volunteers are as diverse as RSVP's volunteer stations: from blood services, to wildlife refuges to food pantry's and a speakers bureau with 100's of other placements to chose from. There is something for everyone!

Description

RSVP/Suffolk County has about 800 volunteers placed at over 100ites in this area. From the "America Reads" literacy initative to Youth mentoring programs and running senior excersize classes at centers and every other placement one can think of, the RSVP program has a presence.

The RSVP volunteer is given supplemental liability insurance while on site In addition Awards and recognition are given each volunteer annually as to hours served. The volunteer choses their placement, the hours that best suit them and the days that they are available for their volunteerism.

Annually Tribute Day is a large luncheon attended by RSVP volunteers who are acknowledged by leaders of industry and elected officials for their community service.
