Mission Statement
Using experiential activities and interaction with STEM professionals, the goal of the STEM Scouts program is to help young people grow in character and skills as they explore their curiosity about STEM fields.
Description
Science, technology, engineering, and math aren't just for the classroom anymore. STEM Scouts brings girls and boys together to shape, tinker, explore, and make. From robots to chemical reactions and circuits to insects, STEM Scouts gives kids the opportunity to dive into a breadth of STEM topics while meeting STEM professionals and learning to both work together and lead. The Capitol Area Council, serving 15 counties in the Austin area, is piloting this exciting new program. We're always looking for STEM professionals and people who just love working with kids to support all aspects of the program and excite more of our youth about STEM!
