Mission Statement

Stafford Junction is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization serving children and families residing in Stafford County's low-income neighborhoods. We partner with individuals, organizations, schools, businesses, churches, and foundations to provide effective and efficient delivery of our programs which focus on education and healthy living. Our programs are all offered at no cost. We strive to provide a critical "hand-up" by practicing our four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Description

Through faith and action, we strive to nurture and develop individuals in Stafford County who are constrained by poverty and the lack of English proficiency, and to help them fulfill their maximum potential.

Brain Builders is an after-school tutoring and mentoring program where students receive guided reading and math review, homework assistance, a nutritious meal or snack, and a Tide Me Over bag (TMO) which includes shelf-stable groceries to prepare a meal for a family of four.

Healthy Living Pays includes workshops, clinics, and classes designed to teach both youth and adults how to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The focus is on nutrition, physical activity, healthcare assessments, and balanced mental health. Family memberships at the YMCA, field trips, health fairs and screenings, and TMO Bags are all part of the program.

Summer Junction includes all Stafford Junction summer camps, activities, and field trips. Activities include Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Sports Camp, STEAM Camp, Soccer Clinic, and Camp Junction. Camp Junction is held at Stafford Junction and is specifically designed to address summer learning loss through activities that focus on maintaining math and reading levels all while having fun. A nutritious lunch, snacks, and TMO bags are provided.
