We love Portland and bikes. So we put our two loves together, creating a non-profit organization on a mission to broaden access to bicycling and its benefits.
Our vision: to help build a vibrant community in which people of all backgrounds use bicycles to stay healthy and connected. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to choose active and healthy transportation regardless of income, education, or background - and this is the motivation behind everything that we do.
Volunteers help in every aspect of our work. From fixing bikes and to community outreach, to fundraising and graphic design, if you have a skill you want to share or develop we have a place for you!
Please join us for volunteer orientation!

Description
The Community Cycling Center, founded in 1994, helps broaden access to bicycling and its benefits through our hands-on programs, volunteer projects, and neighborhood bike shop. Our Commitment to the Community:
Bicycles are a vehicle for change. All year long, we strengthen our community and protect our environment by making used bikes accessible to people of all ages, abilities, and incomes. Our earn-a-bike programs help low-income youth and adults become self-sufficient, healthy, and safe.
Bicycles should be accessible to everyone. Our professional retail bike shop sells refurbished bicycles at a range of reasonable prices and offers a full menu of services.
It takes a community to do what we do. Bicycles and parts are donated from individuals, institutions and supporting businesses. Churches, businesses, schools, and neighborhood groups hold bike collections to help collect bikes. Volunteers help us recycle, fix up program bikes, and coordinate events
