Join the Mount Diablo State Park trail crew and help maintain and improve our park’s beautiful hiking trails! This month, we will head to the John Muir Picnic Area high up on Mount Diablo, with spectacular views east to the Sierra Nevada and west to the ocean. We will focus primarily on pruning in the dense chaparral surrounding the picnic area and a trail leading up to a nearby monument, as well as some minor tread repair. Meet at the Muir Picnic Area off Summit Road at 8:30 a.m. FREE CAMPING is available Friday, August 12 - Sunday, August 14. RSVP: silas.ellison@parks.ca.gov.

Escape the office for a day and join us for a volunteer project up on the mountain! Experience the stunning view from Mount Diablo's summit and immerse yourself in the park's incredible biological diversity and cultural history, while making an important contribution to environmental conservation. Our volunteer work days focus on trail maintenance and improvement, habitat restoration, and maintenance of park facilities. Join our energetic and social crew and take part in the stewardship of our beloved mountain!
