We give you a short description of class and you make it your own. The format is a story, a craft, a snack and a walk. You will have 12 2-4 year olds and their caregivers. We are a small non-profit nature center that cannot pay much but it's a great opportunity to give back to your community and/or build a resume. This is a school year opportunity. You do not have to have a degree but must be good with kids and their caregivers. We have craft supplies but you must come up with a theme based craft and an interesting, inexpensive snack. The walk should also match the theme. For example: September 12 description: '3D nature collage-If you like to collect and like to get crafty get ready for this.' You could take a walk first to collect leaves, pinecones, sticks and stones. Then do a craft with the findings. Read a story from our small library and have a snack of pretzels that look like twigs.

Description

Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve, Inc. is a nonprofit educational corporation supported by memberships, grants, donations and fund raising projects. The preserve and nature center are very much an integral part of the Rochester community, enjoying the support and volunteer help of Rochester area residents and businesses. Many volunteer hours have been and continue to be spent in developing and maintaining the preserve, teaching of classes, as well as in helping with various fund raising projects. Sixteen acres of wood, meadow and stream, nestled in the midst of one of Rochester Michigan's neighborhoods and only 5 minutes from most shopping and business areas, Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve provides a quiet oasis of natural beauty; the perfect opportunity to take a lunch-hour stroll through an enchanting winter wonderland or along a spring path rioting with color. Before you leave, don't forget to visit Dinosaur Hill's award winning nature center, the perfect setting for displaying nature's bounties and teaching her lessons. In the nature center you will find brochures describing the many programs Dinosaur Hill offers for groups, children, adults and families. Classes are small and are taught by experienced, professional staff.
