Waukegan Public Library 2

The Waukegan Public library works with your schedule and location to pair you with someone that needs tutoring. We also provide training and materials to help you become the best tutor! Currently tutoring is virtual with learners receiving support to work online.

With training, support, and materials provided by the Adult Literacy /ESL Tutoring Program staff, you can help adults improve their reading, writing, math or English language skills.

You can help learners achieve many goals: To build the skills they need to pursue additional education. To improve their work opportunities or become more effective in their current jobs. To learn everyday English to go shopping, communicate with employers, etc. To better support their children's education. To reach their goals.

One adult learner said this about working with his tutor:

"I thought when the pandemic started I would never reach my reading goals. I have learned how to meet with my tutor online and continue to become a better reader!"

Are you ready to use your talents and knowledge to support your community? Then become a tutor with the Waukegan Public Library.
