ORGANIZATION: Marion County Volunteer Services, Oregon

Join a group of people who can affect what gets built -- and what doesn’t -- in Marion County. The nine-member Planning Commission has two vacancies to be filled by residents interested in shaping land use policies and development. To maintain geographic representation, preference given to those living in the St. Paul, Stayton, and Santiam Canyon areas. The commission usually meets five or six times a year, on the first or third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Salem. Applications due Friday, January 27th.
