Our capacity building VISTAs are strategically placed with selected host sites that provide critical services, training and empowerment programs aimed at lifting residents up and out of the chains of poverty.
As a VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America), you will work for a minimum of one year to build programs, create change, and fight poverty in New Hampshire communities. Many VISTAs are recent college graduates; however, VISTAs can vary in age and experience.
VISTA responsibilities may include volunteer coordination and tracking, grant writing, coalition building, program design and implementation, community outreach, employment and training, marketing, fundraising, and other activities help organizations create effective and sustainable solutions to end poverty.

Mission Statement
At Families in Transition our mission is To Prevent and Break the Cycle of Homelessness. There are countless ways to get involved with Families in Transition. At the heart of everything we do are individuals and organizations that choose to donate their time, money and services to help us make a difference in the lives of so many.
Description
Volunteering within the agency is a great opportunity to really see our mission at work and to connect with our staff and participants. Some of these volunteer opportunities include shifts at the food pantry, serving a meal at the shelter, sorting donations at Outfitters, helping with building maintenance, and supporting our staff with various administrative projects. We have opportunities for both individuals and groups as well as on-going and one-time projects.
