EMM Miami is recruiting volunteers to assort donations at our office, which include furniture, clothing, toys, linens, and more. Volunteers for this position are usually on call and/or meet once per week for two-hour sessions. Great opportunity for those who pay special attention to detail and have superb organization skills.
We also seek volunteers with access to large cargo vans or trucks to transport home furnishings for apartment set-ups. Highly effective in groups, these volunteers prepare boxes of donated goods and are willing to assist in decorating the homes of newly arrived refugees. Volunteers are on call and should demonstrate patience and be able to lift up to 100 pounds.

Description
EMM Miami has been serving refugees in South Florida since 1980. The agency provides services for newly arrived refugees to help put down roots in their first months in the new community. We provides long-term support services, including employment training, financial literacy, job-placement services, as well as specialized referrals to various community providers for refugees with medical and mental health needs.
Volunteers are an essential component to making this a smooth and enjoyable process. We encourage you to invest your time, talents, and skills in the fields of employment readiness, social services support, cultural integration, English tutoring, financial literacy, office assistance, and more.
