Heartland Hospice believes that no one should die alone and we need third shift volunteers to sit with patients who are in the dying process. No hands -on -skills are needed, just your watchful eye and loving presence. All volunteers are trained and well prepared to offer support to the dying person and family. Volunteers make their own schedules and can accept or decline any assignments. We serve approximately 170 patients throughout Central Indiana and we match volunteers with patients within close driving distance. Mission Statement

The mission of Heartland Hospice is to provide quality hospice care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as, support to their caregivers. The quality of life for those we serve is enhanced through palliative and specialized supportive care designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patients and caregivers.

Description

Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team consisting of the Medical Director, Primary Physician, Nurses, Social Workers, Chaplains, as well as Bereavement Coordinators and Volunteers. Care is delivered to patients either in their own home or extended care facility. Heartland Hospice strives to provide care to all who are eligible and need hospice care irrespective of ability to pay.
